Persia Behind Piracy?

With the crumbling of the West, communication and cooperation between nations becoming futile, and the future stability of the world at large in doubt, Greater Persia reorganizes itself into a global empire. Vowing not only to restore the order once enjoyed but to go beyond it and provide a peace and stability never before enjoyed outside of Greater Persia.

Almost simultaneously, piracy around the globe drops to a fraction of its prior activity.

Greater Persia Expands, Piracy Rampant

Greater Persia continues to expand through military force and political wiles. An attempt was made by the UN to stop Persia's invasion of Djibouti, but they were stopped by an organized group of pirates off the East African coast. Those pirates, also targeted by the UN, took aggressive action and pillaged and destroyed the UN headquarters. The organization, having faced terrible stress from years of warfare and failure to stop aggressive action around the world, has been disbanded.

British Empire Crumbles, Persia Expands

The British Empire was dismantled by the UN after conquering Canada and the eastern coast of the United States. Republics are reestablished in all of the nations which were once under the control of the British behemoth. Great Britain is now strictly a parliamentary system with no monarch.

In the middle east, Greater Persia continues to expand as many Arab League nations join with the empire which promises a peaceful stability in contrast to the war that has rocked western nations in recent years.

The UK has developed electric vehicles and a supporting infrastructure. 80% of all vehicles in the empire are now electric. In addition, longtime enemy France has joined with the UK to make a better Europe and a better world.

Greater Persia Invades Kuwait

Europe, caught up in its own wars, does nothing to stop the invasion of this major oil-producing nation. The United Kingdom continues to wage war, having lost many soldiers and vehicles in major offensives against France and Italy. Things look grim for the world as tensions rise and these two growing super-powers continue to push at their neighbors.

Greater Persia takes Turkmenistan

... and an invasion of Kuwait is in the works.

In other news, Canada decides to disassociate itself from the British crown.

British Plot Foiled in France

Jean Baptiste de Lyon was arrested in France under suspicion of treason. He was later executed after confessing to involvement in a British plot to assassinate the French president, M. Serge Lapaz.

King Henry of the United Kingdom denies any connection with Jean Baptiste de Lyon and any plot to assassinate a world leader. His Majesty states, "We are at war with France, yes, but we will not descend to their level. They plotted the death of my parents at the hands of the parliamentalists, and We will have justice, but that justice will come in court when our great military succeeds in bringing them under the crown." The king is on his way to speak against parliamentalism in Canada.

In other news, Turkmenistan has descended into civil war with the growing unrest in the Middle East.

Xerxes III King of Persia makes an impassioned speech to The United Nations

Highlights: He cites the recent devastating collection of civil wars in the middle east as the inevitable end result of western meddling in affairs and cultures that they do not fundamentally understand. Blames the West for inciting petty tribal conflicts as part of a conspiracy to keep them 'dumb and angry'. A stabilized middle east could bring peace and prosperity back to the cradle of civilization and once given the chance to blossom and grow unfettered, such a civilization could easily surpass the West in a matter of mere decades. By bringing two countries that the west has undeniably destroyed into Greater Persia he has brought peace and stability to the region and hope to the people. Even now their lives are better than under the Western Oppressors. In order to sustain this stability and brace against renewed Western agression, he declares, Persia must expand their influence to other nearby areas of instability. This expanded, stronger, Greater Persia will not only excel internally but will unite the middle east in a force strong enough to hold back the tides of the dark terror now rolling through Europe. Despite recent misunderstandings in the western media, Greater Persia is not an imperialistic empire with an eye on conquering. GP is interested only in safeguarding their region. Should their hands be forced however, they will rise to meet the challenge. Greater Persia is being formed of a dream. A Persian Empire would only be forged as a shield against the West.

Google Earth Map of Game

Here's a visualization of the game right now using Google Earth.

Success in the Netherlands

I have achieved success in the Netherlands, E sent this:
I declare that I will bring stability to the region by bringing it under the control of a new Persian Empire

The Game Returns

Those of you who know me well know that E and I have been playing a game since we met in middle school. The game is a little bit like Risk. At its heart, it's a game of global domination. A player makes moves by declaring what he wants to do in the game universe and then flips a coin or rolls a die to see if he is successful. That's the simple explanation. Really, there are a lot of hidden rules and such that have never been written down and wouldn't make a lot of sense to too many people outside of the two of us.

So, a week or so ago, I decided to start back into the game and I sent E a text to let him know I was doing so. We've gotten a little ways into the game. The map above shows just the UK and Belgium, which is all I control, considering I can't seem to conquer France. Oh well! I'm trying to invade the Netherlands now, and we'll see how that pans out. E has created major instability in the Middle East, so I don't know what he really controls and what's just crazy down there. All I really know about it is that he's causing my gas prices to go up! ;)
